Well finally the last game of the season was here 5 wks after are last league game..   The season seen xmas has been crap, the weather has been so inconsistent and its been really hard to keep them playing at a high level like they was playing before xmas..       Our last game of the season was against Appleton, who was second in the table and knew if they won and Eagles lost that they could win the league, but at the same time we only needed a point to guarantee us promotion for the first time in this teams history..          We kicked off at 11am, the weather was cool and overcast but at the same time warm enough for shorts & t-shirts, we played up hill first half and Appleton had alot of play for the first 10mins but without really having a clear chance on goal, but we slowly started to get ourselfs into the game and we won a corner with some good play of are own, Nathan Quinn spotted the corner and he crossed it over to the far side of the goal where he found Kyle Barton's head and he headed the ball back across the goal into the far corner for us to lead 1-0, fantastic header Barton, well done mate..       Appleton then kicked off and was putting us under alot of pressure for the next 5mins, and they then had a throw-in which they took quickly and the player ran the ball into the box before striking the ball into the net for 1-1, it was are fault they scored coz we turned off..         The game was now becoming a bit end to end, with chances at both ends but the ball got played though to Matty Burgess who run down the right side of the pitch and into the box before hitting the ball into the far corner for us to retake the lead, well done Matty good goal mate and a lovely contolled finish well done..     Now by this point we was starting to control the game and creating alot more chances, then we got a free kick from a hand ball about 22yards from goal, towards the right hand side of the goal (as you look at the goal) Nathan Quinn spotted the ball and i knew it was going in before he even took it, and he stepped up and hit the ball into the top corner of the net, great goal Nay well done mate..   This saw us 3-1 up and controlling the game with 5mins of the half left, we then had another attack and the ball got played over the top and bounched over the on rushing Appleton keeper, which saw him back peddling and Matty Burgess running after the ball which Matty managed to collect and he turned and shot but saw his shot bounch of the post and back to him, so he then sqaured the ball to Danny Otoole who saw his shot saved..   Half-time was here and we was 3-1, so i told the lads at half-time just to keep going as they was doing really well and remember everything that i had said before the game and make sure that we do switch off, stay focused..    The second half got underway with us kicking down hill, Appleton started off attacking much like they had done 1st half and we had defend for our lifes at times in the second half but they never created themselves a clear cut chance due to some fantastic play from our defenders..    The game got very stretched as we was playing a very deep line, not something that i'd normally not let them get away with but 2day was a day for taking no chances..       No more goals in the second half saw us finish the game 3-1 much to the delight of Steve an Me, along the the family & friends that was watching as the closer it got to the end of the game the closer they got to the ropes lol..    There was so many players that could have got man of the match as everyone in the team had a great game i felt it had to go to a defender and Steve picked saying that Will deserved it as he chased there number 9 down everytime he got beyond our defensive and cleared any danger there could have been, so well done Will Buckley..            After having been with this team for 3 yrs it gave me so much joy to see them achive something, as when i joined them they couldn't buy a win..     We broke most of the records set by this team over the yrs, just to name a few, we won more games than we've won before, we won 6 league games in a row and finished the season of a 4 league game winning run..    We won are 1st ever Cup game and it was against a team 2 divisions above us..    An not forgetting a 8 game winning run in all matches..    PLUS ALSO NOT 2 FORGET FINISHING 3RD IN THE TABLE TO GETTING PROMOTED..  All of the players should be really proud of themselves..     CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL..
